1. Accessibility Requirements and Applicable Criteria

The digital accessibility requirements are set out in Legislative Decree of May 27, 2022, No. 82 "Implementation of Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 17, 2019, on the accessibility requirements for products and services", which refers to the UNI EN 301549 technical standard.

Specifically, website compliance must be evaluated according to the criteria in Chapters 9 "Web" and 10 "Non-web content," which reference the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, levels A and AA.

The four key principles of digital accessibility, as defined by WCAG 2.1, are:

  • Perceivable – Content is presented in a clear and understandable way.
  • Operable – The interface is easy for all users to navigate.
  • Understandable – Information and actions are intuitive and easy to interpret.
  • Robust – The site is compatible with common assistive technologies.

Referring to the above-mentioned UNI EN 301549 standard, which clearly lists the 50 success criteria for evaluating a website’s accessibility, technical analyses have been carried out on the site’s content, including textual and non-textual information, downloadable documents and forms, and two-way interactions such as digital form submission and the completion of authentication, identification, and payment processes.

Areas Excluded from Application

Article 1, paragraph 5 of Legislative Decree No. 82/2022 states that the provisions of the decree do not apply to the following website and mobile application content:

  • pre-recorded time-based media published before June 28, 2025;
  • office file formats published before June 28, 2025;
  • maps and online mapping services, provided essential navigation information is made available in an accessible digital format;
  • third-party content that is neither funded nor developed by the concerned economic operator nor under its control;
  • website and mobile application content considered to be archives, containing only content that has not been updated or edited since June 28, 2025.

2. General Description of the Service

This website is aimed at end consumers and offers retail services for the Gianni Chiarini brand, allowing users to discover, select, and purchase the company’s products. Users can browse the site using filters, add items to the cart, register to access their personal area, and manage orders, returns, and personal details. In addition to the complete purchase flow, the site also allows users to purchase a gift card, subscribe to the newsletter, consult customer service, and contact the company.

3. How the Service Works

The site is accessible via desktop, tablet, and smartphone using major web browsers and is available in Italian, English, German, and Russian.

Site navigation is designed through a main menu that provides direct access to the most relevant sections.

Below is a detailed explanation of the main services offered:

  • Browsing products: users can view different products by accessing the menu items categorized by type and selecting the desired product category from the dropdown menu.
  • Adding products to favorites: users can add products to their favorites only if they are registered. This can be done by clicking the dedicated button within the product page. All favorite products are viewable in the reserved area, where users can either add them to the cart or remove them from the favorites list.
  • Making a purchase: users can purchase products by selecting an item and clicking the “add to cart” button on the product page. Products can also be added to the cart from the preview screen by clicking the “buy” button. To complete the checkout, users must click the dedicated menu item at the top, proceed to the next screen, log in or enter their details without registration, and choose a payment method. Once all fields are completed, the order can be submitted and the purchase finalized.
  • Purchasing a gift card: gift cards can be purchased by accessing the dedicated menu item. On the page, users complete a short form with the required information and add the voucher to the cart. The checkout process continues as with any other product.
  • Accessing the reserved area: the site allows users to register and access their reserved area by selecting the relevant option from the dropdown menu in the header. On the appropriate pages, users can log in or create an account by entering the required information.
  • Requesting a return: returns can be requested by both registered and non-registered users. Simply access the "Request a Return" section from the menu and complete the dedicated form. Registered users can also submit return requests directly from their reserved area.
  • Search navigation: users can search directly for a product by entering a keyword in the search bar at the top of the page (header).
  • Filter navigation: within product pages, users can refine their search using different filter types.
  • Requesting information: users can request information via email, phone call, or form submission. Contact information is available on the “Contact” page, accessible from the footer menu.
  • Consulting customer service: users can access a dedicated FAQ page by clicking the appropriate menu item in the dropdown menu in the header or in the footer.
  • Subscribing to the newsletter: users can subscribe to the promotional newsletter during the registration process by checking the appropriate box.
  • Starting a direct chat: the site offers the option to start a direct chat with an operator via WhatsApp by clicking the dedicated icon.

4. Fulfillment of Accessibility Requirements

To improve accessibility and the user experience, FFW S.r.l. has integrated the UserWay PRO accessibility widget into the website referenced in this statement. Its use is completely free for website users and helps improve the site's compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
UserWay PRO offers multiple features to enhance website accessibility and user experience, through a dedicated panel accessible by clicking the widget icon or using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+U, as listed below.

  • Screen Reader: reads aloud all page content without needing an external screen reader.
  • Dictionary: allows users to consult dictionaries without leaving the site. Useful for people with cognitive disabilities, non-native English speakers, and others.
  • Larger Text: increases on-screen text size with four levels of magnification, making the site easier to read.
  • Saturation: adjusts the color intensity of the site to high, low, or grayscale.
  • Contrast: inverts site colors or switches between light and dark contrast modes.
  • Smart Contrast: ensures all site colors fully comply with ADA guidelines, improving visibility.
  • Highlight Links: emphasizes links, buttons, and interactive elements with bright, high-contrast colors, improving usability and general accessibility.
  • Stop Animations: pauses auto-moving or updating content considered a barrier to accessibility; stops flashing content that may distract or trigger seizures in sensitive users.
  • Text Spacing: adjusts character and line spacing to improve readability for dyslexic and visually impaired users, offering three levels of customization.
  • Line Height: increases line spacing for more comfortable reading across the site.
  • Text Alignment: aligns text left, right, or center for a personalized, accessible reading experience.
  • Dyslexia-Friendly Font: the “UserWay Dyslexia Friendly” font improves readability and provides a smoother reading experience for visitors with dyslexia.
  • Large Cursor: enlarges the standard cursor by 400% to ensure it's always visible, making navigation faster and more accessible across links, tabs, and form elements.
  • Tooltips: shows alt text and ARIA labels for on-screen elements when hovered. Tooltips are high-contrast and easy to read for low-vision users.
  • Page Structure: quickly reveals headings, landmarks, and links in a clear, structured, and accessible format, helping all users find content more easily.

In addition to the features users can activate via the accessibility menu, the UserWay PRO widget can detect numerous accessibility issues and automatically correct them in real-time without modifying the source code—only what the browser displays. This allows the website to be more usable by all end users, including those using assistive technologies.

Accessibility for users relying on assistive technologies—such as screen readers, alternative keyboards, or voice commands—is also supported through the use of ARIA attributes. These attributes describe the role, state, and properties of UI elements, communicate dynamic interactions (e.g., expandable menus, modals, sliders) to screen readers, and support keyboard navigation in complex components.

Additional Accessibility Requirements for E-Commerce Services

The service ensures accessible identification, security, and payment functionalities by using systems that make such features perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

For electronic payments, the site uses leading providers listed below:

Compliance Status

To determine the site's compliance status, the guidelines and evaluation checklist provided by AgID were used.

This website is partially compliant with the requirements outlined in Appendix A of the UNI CEI EN 301549 standard. As it was published before June 28, 2025, the company intends to achieve full compliance upon the future release of a new version of the website.

5. Accessibility Monitoring Process

In a future update of the website, FFW S.r.l. will pay particular attention to the service delivery process to ensure compliance with digital accessibility regulations, possibly with the support of external consultants for the following tasks:

  • technical accessibility audit through a gap analysis;
  • user testing of key user flows, including with assistive technologies;
  • analysis of third-party technologies, plugins, and services implemented on the site;
  • reporting of gaps and non-compliances found through technical audits and testing;
  • validation of fixes applied for non-compliances;
  • preparation of public-facing accessibility documentation;
  • training staff on best practices for digital accessibility;
  • defining internal policies and procedures for handling user support requests.

FFW S.r.l. also intends to periodically carry out technical audits to monitor website accessibility over time, potentially with support from third-party specialists, to implement improvements based on user feedback as well.

In such cases, the audits will be conducted by a specialized accessibility consultant using up-to-date tools and methods, including semi-automated code checks, manual user tests, and assistive technologies.
